Description

English Painted Pearlware Round Screw Top Box. 

The waisted cylindrical box with a lightly-domed top, the base interior with a moulded flange, and the top with a matching moulded screw. 

The rims painted with bright blue enamel, enclosing two concentric bands of pink enamel foliate and berried bands, enclosing a slender blue band, with a pink spray. The sides painted with another band of the floral and berry design. 

Unmarked.

Circa 1790-1820.

2" H. x 3 3/8" Diameter. 

Condition: Losses to flange, although the screw fixes tightly; minor crazing to glaze; and a hairline crack.
