SOLD English 18th Century Staffordshire Pottery Salt Glazed Stoneware Wall Pocket.

The body of waisted triangular form, moulded with trellis, scrolls, masks and most noticeably pectin shell.

A rare survivor, and a wonderful object to hang on a wall. The glaze is impermeable to water, so may be used (carefully).

Wall pockets were designed as another way to bring the garden indoors, the pockets may hold cut or dried floral arrangements.

Circa 1760.
