Description

German Ruscha Keramic Charger applied with mushrooms to the center in high-relief, enameled in oranges, browns and blue hues, the underside glazed in brown stoneware glaze and incised 717/3. Made at the factory at Rheinbach, active 1905-1996.

The "mushroom" chargers were made in several sizes, of which this is the largest, and may be considered the last of the mid-century designs.

After the "mushroom" designs hit the market, Ruscha turned to far simpler designs requiring little hand-decorating.
