The deep mouth encompasses the flat cover with knop, the cover painted with silver lustre. Marked "Pot by Edward" impressed "HIGGINS" and marked "Drawing by Mary Lou Higgins 1976).

8 3/4" H. Some crazing near the top.

Mary Lou Higgins' distinctive drawing style is unique in the field of studio ceramics in the late 20th Century. She was also a weaver, making complex compositions. Some of that interest in linear style transfer to her drawing style. Ms. Higgins went on to have a long career in the arts. Edward Higgins, whose dates I do not know, was the potter of the duo, and went on to take many photographs of ceramic processes used in literature of the "How To" area of ceramic pedogogy.
