Description

Bohemian Tricolor Glass-Covered Goblet,  19th Century

Fine and unusual German-Czech Bohemian tricolor amber, ruby and clear glass covered goblet or chalice on foot, acid-etched with three Hungarian viszlas or hunting hounds, foliate side panels, and raised oval medallion, with splayed petal-form foot. Unmarked. Circa 1840-1870. 13” H. (Very minor speck in cover knop, one light scratch to center panel.)

This deckal pokal (covered vase) is a triumph of skill, combining two colors in addition to the clear glass, the view of the hunting dogs is very sensitively etched, and the splayed foot is well balanced. T

Item ships with a lined, fitted box, made for it, when it was exhibited in Japan.
