French Art Nouveau Gilded-Bronze Pin Tray, c. 1900,

the tray of rounded-rectangular form, molded naturalistically with a reed, rushes and branch-form low gallery, the face with bas-relief of a nymph flying downward toward blooming waterlily in a pond, trying to catch a damselfly emergent from the water. The tray has a small loop soldered to the back, thus it converts to a wearable medal or pin. Unmarked and unsigned. 

Reminiscent of the nymphs of Cheret (1838-1894).
