For reference to similar examples, see Lois Roberts, “Painted in Blue, Underglaze Blue Painted Earthenwares 1775 to 1810” (Northern Ceramic Society, 2006, printed by Lois Roberts). “China White” wares were advertised contemporaneously by many factories from Staffordshire to points north, east and in Ireland and Scotland. Based on its heavy foot, this bowl appears to have been made toward the 1800-1810 period Roberts discusses.
