Description

American Contemporary Ceramic and Multimedia Tile Wall Art by Mark Forman, comprising of three rectangular ceramic tiles, each scored, incised, rubbed, painted, and paper-inlaid with architectural; spatial; geometric and forms in blue, grey and beige tones.

The tiles are abstract, and sculptural, some of the elements are recognizable and others are alien.

Signed to back.

53" H. x 23" W. x 4" D.

Circa 1985-1988.

Minor chips to edges. One of the tiles has some flaking to a field of grey paint.

Mark Forman changed focuses from ceramics to painting as of the mid-1990s. He calls these works "Tile Forms." Each tile is made up of several smaller panels; some of which have been intentionally juxtaposed at odd angles. The overall sensibility is modern and mysterious, with a slight twist of 1980s Memphis madness and kitsch.

Price below is for all three of the tile forms. Please email for more photos.
