Description

SOLD Danish Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Covered Bowl on stepped circular base, the openwork berry stem supporting a circular bowl with everted rim, the cover with berry finial. The form often referred to as "Louvre" due to the fact that the Louvre Museum purchased an example for its collection in 1914. First designed in 1912. 

Marked to underside for George Jensen, Copenhagen, .925 Sterling and shape number 180C. Three castles stamp. HCF in an oval cartouche. Bowl marked GS for importation to England. 

5 7/8" H., 5 5/8" D.  14.072 ozt.

Circa 1915-30. 

Minor scratching to surface consistent with age.
