SOLD English Modern Studio Art Porcelain Painted Beaker by Jane Osborne Smith.

Jane Osborne Smith (1952-2013), born in Britain. 

Married to Peter S. Aldridge, a design director at Steuben. The two collaborated on some projects.

The eggshell-thin body of tapering cylindrical form, one side flattened, and the surface painted with delicate matte  enamel s with a pencil-thin brush, with a bird in flight over a basinet, the sides enameled in grey and black with feathered wings. 

Initialed J.O.S. to underside, and inscribed "In the Widening Gyre."

Circa 1998.
