Description

Royal Worcester matte ivory-ground bulbous dragon vase with applied full body dragon. The flared vase rim with gilt edge on ivory body, the gilt full body of a dragon wrapped around the vase. The open mouth of the dragon with fangs, tongue, horns and red glass eyes. 
Printed marks in puce RW in a circle, Rd. no. 26404, and shape number 1891. 
16" H. 

Dated 1895. 

Very good condition, one tiny chip to one of the dragon leg joints. 

Wares such as this became popular after the Exposition Universelle in France, and the London International Exhibition of 1862.
