Korean Kwan-Shik Byun (1899-1976) Fine Ink Landscape Painting
Kwan-Shik Byun is from a family long identified as painters of traditional landscapes and scenes of Korean. This is a very fine ink and watercolor of mountainous landscape with pine trees. Each brush stroke adds to the mood, and the paintings manages to capture to experiences at one time: one, very emotive, and the other very brushily-rendered views of mountains among fog.
