Literature: A very similar jardiniere is illustrated in Joan Jones' MINTON The First 200 Years of Design and Production, copyright 1993 by Royal Doulton, Swan Hill Press, page 100. As Jones note, the design is from Owen Jones' Grammar of Chinese Ornament, first printed in 1867.
