English 18th Century Placido Columbani Figural Chimney Piece, carved of distinctive grey Yorkstone. The stepped rectangular shell above a frieze carved with drapery and floral swags, the uprights in the form of female caryatids.Italian 

Placido Columbani (c. 1744-1801) was born in Italy and practiced both architecture and interior design for grand homes in England.

The price includes a credit for up to $4,500 in shipping and installation fees. Please note, the chimney piece is in situ until 9/26 in an apartment in Manhattan. It will be removed by a professional in chimney work, and blanketed. After 9/27, the chimney will ship out of Brooklyn zip code. Whether for domestic long-distance or overseas long-distance, the three articles of the piece will be placed into fitted wood shipping boxes awaiting delivery to the next destination.

Since it will not be possible to get a weight on the uprights or the frieze until after it is removed from the fireplace where it is now, all shipping prices and suggestions for delivery methods will have to wait until after 9/26.
