Description

Luxurious set of six fine quality French porcelain Kakiemon-pattern-painted cups and saucers, with silver mounts. The cups are of straight-sided cylindrical form, with applied ring handle to side. The center band of the cups is painted in iron-red and gold with some teal-green flourishes, in Asian style with flowerheads on stems, and teal-green leaves. A band at the upper rim, of teal-green-blue color, is painted with the same palette, with a finely-painted butterfly in brackets to the cup center. 

The saucers with the same teal-blue-green border pattern with bracketted butterfly, centering a yellow, green and blue parrot with gold enamel head feathers. The bird surrounded by iron-red and gold stylized foliage.

The cups are 2 3/8" H. High, 2 1/4" Diameter.  The saucers 1" H., 5" Diameter.

Each cup and saucer with a silver ring and band-form mount, with beaded edge. 

The French silver mounts marked by Paul Tonnelier, dated 1882-1889.

The set is a beautiful, elegant grouping, and in wonderful condition. They have been in storage for over 30 years, and prior to that had not been used. 

Set includes six cups and six saucers, 12 items in all.
