SOLD  French Creil Creamware Plate, Transfer-Printed in black with an Interior Scene of Chateaubriand Chairing the Committee of Greeks regarding War and Peace.  The rim printed with a stylized laurel wreath and floral border. 

Impressed marks to underside. 

8 1/2" D. x 1" H. 

Circa 1830.

The scene is depicted very crisply. Minor light scratching to surface. The underside has wear and scratching to foot, all superficial.

Collectors interested in contemporary depictions of dress, interior architecture and furniture can learn much by looking at such prints.
