Description

English Chamberlain's Worcester Royal Queen's Pattern Cream Jug, 1780-1800, of ovoid shape, with arched handle, painted with the Japanese-style pattern in bright Kakiemon hues. Unmarked.

Very good condition, with very minor gilding and enamel wear. One black dot of kiln spitting near the spout.

The pattern was influenced by Japanese porcelains imported into European via trade routes. In the factory books, it is known as "Japan" pattern #240, the 'Best Queens" pattern. The pattern stayed in fashion until about 1820.
