SOLD  French Creil and Montreau Creamware Plate, Transfer-Printed with Scene of Byron Leading his Greek Troops in black with scene named in French, of "Lord Byron a la Tete d"Un Detachement Grec"  showing Lord Byron mounted on his steed, leading men on horses, with ancient temples nearby, within a shoulder printed with laurel leavesand scrolling foliage. 

Impressed marks to underside.    

8.5" D. 1" H.

Circa 1830.

The print on the face of the plate is very crisp and fine. There is minor wear to one area of the face. The underside of the plate has minor wear and rubbing.

The factories of Creil and Montereau merged in 1819.
