Description
18th Century Liverpool Porcelain James Pennington Printed Saucer. Transfer printed in black with "La Cascade" pattern, centering a fashionable couple walking by a figural fountain, a mandolin player and an amorous couple to the side. All under a dentil and dot band under a slender band at the rim.
Not marked.
Circa 1775.
1 1/8" H. x 5" Diameter.

I 787 to C). The Fountain print is after an engraving by G. Scotin, based on Jean-Antoine Watteau painting. (The painting now preserved at the Richard Wallace Collection, London, No. P395).
