18th Century Rococo Creamware Figural Sauceboat.

Modelled as a deep shell with scalloped sides, the rocaille-moulded, curling handle surmounted by a female figurehead. 

Unmarked.

Circa 1770. 

5 1/4" H., 9 1/2" L., 4 1/4" D. 

(Restoration: 5" long hairline crack glued closed and professionally-overpainted).

Creta alla Inglese became enormously popular in Italy after 1750.
