18th Century Staffordshire Black Glazed Miniature Teapot.
Of squat, globular form, with molded and prunus branches and flowers. The cover with bird finial.
Circa 1760-1770.
3 1/2" H., 5" L.

Up until the 1980s, this type of ware was called Jackfield or Jackfield-type. Black-glazed pottery was considered a must-have for Americana collectors starting in the 1920s.
