18th Century Worcester Rare Quatrefoil Shape Teabowl and Saucer.

Transfer-printed in black enamel with "La Terre," a Chinoiserie scene of Chinese lady, standing in a garden beside children tending large jardinieres filled with pineapples and squash, the bowl interior printed with a single potted plant issuing tall vegetation. 

Unmarked.

Circa 1754. 

Condition: Shallow filled chip to rim of teabowl; wear to saucer. 

The scene of "La Terre" [The Earth], is based on a series of the four elements , drawn by Francois Boucher, as engraved by Pierre Aveline. Printer Gabriel Huquier published the engravings 1738-1749.
