British Studio Pottery Mary White Folded and Striped Vase Vessel, formed as a cylinder, one side vertically-folded or creased over the other side, tapering toward the base, painted in alternating stripes of lilac purple, turquoise, natural white. The area toward the base painted in deep blue-green. The lowest area painted in teal-green-blue. The top with an irregular, torn-shaped upper edge outlined in delicate black pen-work.
Impressed M over W inverted to underside.

Dated 1990.
The enamel to the lowest part of the vase shows some light wear.

Mary White (1926-2013) had a reputation not only as a ceramic artist, but also as a member of the Society of Scribes and Illuminators. She moved between England and Germany.
