Hungarian Zsolnay Pecs Pottery
Pair of Faience Vases of "Alhambra" form, each with flat, winglike handles attached to the conical upper body joined to the globular mid-section, over the flaring base. Decorated with copper lustreware finish on the brown-glazed body. Designed by Tade Sikonki.
Printed Zsolnay Pecs marks to underside of each.

Excellent, undamaged condition.

The Hispano-Moresque Alhambra form took the pottery world by storm. First designed in the 1870s, its popularity spread as far as Cincinnati where the Art Museum has on display a magnificent example of the form in its Aesthetic Movement period rooms.
